Ink Dot Approved
Ink Dots are applied to wooden bat handles to aid in visual inspection of that bat’s straightness of grain on its face grain. Verifying that the tangential slope of grain is less than 3 degrees, per MLB specifications to aid in measure of bat durability and game safety.

Just used the bat for the first time. A triple to the deepest part of the park. The bat felt great through the hitting zone. Funny comment I heard from the dugout about my hitting. They said I will never hit for the cycle, because I can’t hit a single. Five plate appearances with the new bat, two triples, two doubles and a K. I come back in and told them it’s the bat. Just ordered a replacement just in case.

My 13 year old son plays on a 14U club team and needed a wood bat for an all wood bat tournament this fall. My son is almost 6′ tall, 165 lbs. and has been swinging a Demarini 33″ -3 BBCOR metal bat in the #4 spot for the last year and a half. Not wanting to lose any power, he chose the Annex Model 243 with its end loaded feel and large 2 5/8 barrel. To his surprise not only did he NOT lose power, this maple bat has such incredible pop that he consistently drives the ball 40-50 feet farther than he did with his Demarini that cost more than 3 times as much!! While many of his teammates who used “other” wood bats have switched back to metal now that the wood bat tournament is over, my son decided to ditch the BBCOR bat and stick with the Annex 243 where he continues to punish the opposing pitchers with each at bat. I ordered the 243 model for my HS aged son for a wood bat tourney in Atlanta. My son loved the bat and felt it much more POP than any of the big brand name wood bats he had previously used. He used it in a warm up tourney and hit so well, that I wanted to have a backup for Atlanta. I contacted Annex and asked how long it would take to ship a bat to Atlanta. Matt answered my email very quickly and told me if I ordered it that day, it was Thursday, I would have it at my hotel in Atlanta by Monday. My son hit a homerun in his 1st game with several college scouts watching and he ended up getting some college offers after the tourney. I’ve swung pro lumber straight from the Show and nothing compares to that. However, as far as wood goes that’s available for purchase by everyday folks, Annex is top of the line. Ordered the 243 last November after Annex moved into their new facility and restarted production. Our playoff season was over, so I stashed it during the offseason and broke it out in this February for a BP session. This big stick packs some thunder! Crushed balls with outstanding exit velos, exceeded the wood I’d been using prior. I believe in putting my $$$ where the results and value are, so I immediately ordered another 243 to ensure I’ll have 2 for spring / summer season. This bat is for power guys, so you’ll def need some muscle to be able to swing this with good bat speed (definitely not the bat for “pookie” singles hitters). When you make contact on the sweet spot, the ball explodes off it. Nice to see a manufacturer producing the biggest bat barrel out there, dense, with great feel on the handle (got mine in matte white, clear coat barrel).
